Weekend hold: BTC products rescued the week, ETH did not
What happened
Into early Monday Zurich time, Coinbase 24h stats put BTC near $81.6k after an $80.3k–$82.1k range, ETH near $2,664 after a $2,566–$2,707 range, SOL near $112.3 after a $107.7–$113.4 range, and XRP near $1.44. Bloomberg and SoSoValue-linked reports show U.S. spot BTC ETFs took about $593 million across Thursday and Friday — enough to erase midweek redemptions and leave a thin ~$6.2 million weekly net inflow, with Friday alone near $433 million (Fidelity FBTC ~$310.7 million, BlackRock IBIT ~$108.4 million). Spot ETH ETFs, by contrast, finished the week about $140 million in the red despite a Friday rebound near $144 million. Fear & Greed printed 70 Greed, a tick softer than the weekend 71 readings.
What it means
Price held the $81k handle, but product flows tell two stories. BTC spot ETFs needed a late-week surge just to finish flat-to-green; ETH products broke their inflow streak. That split matters for IBIT/FBTC holders versus ETHA and peer ETH funds, for exchange beta in COIN, and for miners that still trade as leveraged BTC. Macro is not quiet either: Bessent–He talks tee up Thursday’s Trump–Xi summit, oil has eased toward the low-$100s, and equity futures opened soft-green — a risk backdrop that can support crypto beta without confirming a new weekly trend.
Chart and trend facts
BTC, ETH, and SOL all print BULLISH with Hold / Trail on the free weekly trend check. Majors are digesting Friday’s squeeze higher, not launching a fresh breakout claim. Structure into summit week is “defend the reclaim,” not “add into strength.”
What to do
Let Friday’s move cool. Prefer structure you already hold over chasing Monday’s $81k hold into a summit-heavy calendar. If you add at all, keep it small and wait for flows and price to agree again.
