Relief with a split: BTC inflows, ETH outflows
What happened
Cheaper oil and a pullback in the 10-year yield let stocks and bonds firm after Wednesday’s hike. Crypto followed the same signal rather than leading it. Into early Friday Zurich time, Coinbase 24h stats put BTC near $77.6k after a $75.9k–$77.6k range, ETH near $2,488 after a $2,425–$2,492 range, SOL near $105.5 after a $99.5–$106 range, and XRP near $1.32. According to SoSoValue via CoinDesk, U.S. spot BTC ETFs took in about $159 million on Thursday while spot ETH ETFs lost about $39 million — a third consecutive withdrawal day after roughly $224 million Wednesday and $141 million Tuesday. XRP funds lost about $5 million. Fear & Greed printed 56 Greed, up from Neutral 50 on Thursday’s brief.
What it means
Price and flow are not telling the same story across majors. BTC is getting fresh spot ETF demand again after the midweek redemption wave; ETH is still seeing product redemptions even as the token bounces with the tape. That split matters for ETHA and peer ETH ETF holders, for ethereum beta in COIN and related exchanges, and for miners that still trade more like leveraged BTC. A broad token bounce funded by oil-eased risk appetite is not the same as confirmed ETH product demand.
Chart and trend facts
BTC reclaimed and held above $77k on the Coinbase window. ETH and SOL outperformed on percentage terms inside the bounce, but ETH’s ETF tape remains an outflow streak. Structure is still post-Clarity, post-hike digestion — not a fresh weekly trend claim.
What to do
Treat Thursday’s relief as digestion of a priced-in hike against cheaper oil, not as a green light to add size. Prefer confirmed structure you already hold over chasing the open of a Friday bounce.
